With its charming harbours and child friendly beaches, the Limfjord is an excellent base for waterbound activities such as windsurfing. The regions rolling hills and charming countryside also make it especially attractive for nature lovers. Other activities include a tour of an extensive system of chalk mines, which are now home to large colonies of bats. Alternatively, you can go in search of one of the regions many ghosts at Staarup Hovedgaard, the regions oldest manor house. A visit to the Stone Age Centre at Ertebølle is highly recommended, as is a trip to the Hjerl Hede living museum, which, with its historic houses and living workshops, provides a vivid glimpse into the development of the Danish village.
