The area around Lake Murten was originally settled by lacustrians. Then the Helvetians built their capital Aventicum, today’s Avenches. Later, the Zähringer town Murten was founded, where the Confederates defeated Charles the Duke of Burgundy in the Battle of 1476.   Far away from mass tourism, the inhabitants enjoy a high quality of life, characterized by an easy-going leisureliness, in the middle of an idyllic landscape rich in culinary heritage. In short, small but fine!   The bilingual region invites its visitors to cycle, hiking, stand-up paddling, swimming, sailing, motorboating or a tour on a scheduled boat.   In the middle of the vineyards of the Mount Vully and 15 min. from Murten or Avenches, the holiday apartment “Riposo” is situated in the impasse des Cerisiers on the ground floor of a well-kept detached house with view of Lake Murten, the Alpes and the Broye.
