House in Colares with Private Parking

This spacious and tastefully furnished holiday villa is located in Ulgueira-Colares, Sintra, along the Lisbon Coast, near Cabo da Roca. It is only approximately two kilometres away from the north Atlantic beach of Praia da Adraga, and also near the beaches Praia Grande and Praia das Maças. To the centre of Sintra, an old town which is a World Heritage site declared by Unesco it is only approximately seven kilometres. The villa offers a perfect place to stay if you want to explore the area of Lisbon.

The sliding glass doors in the kitchen open to the terrace. Next to the villa's private, heated pool is a parasol and eight sunloungers. A barbecue area and the beautiful garden with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean are a highlight. The pool is heated from April to October.

The property is fenced and therefore suitable for children and dogs. It is recommended to rent a car.

The holiday villa was built in 1998 and has only recently been completely renovated (2012). It features a living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen with additional dining area, three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

In the living area there are two comfortable sofas, a music system, a TV and a round dining table with chairs. The kitchen has a dishwasher, a gas stove and oven, a microwave, a kettle, toaster, fridge freezer and a coffee machine. In addition, a large wooden dining table invites you to an extended holiday breakfast. Two bedrooms are each equipped with a 180x200 cm double bed, the third has two 90 x 200 cm single beds, which can be pushed together to make another double bed. One of the three bathrooms has a bathtub, the other two shower cubicles. All three are equipped with a sink and a toilet.

There is air conditioning and internet with free Wi-Fi. Two travel cots, a high chair and toys for children are available.

The villa is located between Sintra and Cascais (15 km), a good location to explore the area. The nearest shops and restaurants are about a five-minute drive away: In Azóia (2 km), Almoçageme (3 km), Colares (5 km) and Várzea de Colares (5 km). In the small village of Almoçageme, a two-minute drive away, there is a weekend market where you can buy fresh bread and local fruits and vegetables.

Nearby you will also find several sandy beaches, including Adraga (3 km). Other beautiful beaches are Praia Grande and Praia das Maçãs (with many restaurants offering excellent food, cafes, bars, nightclubs and local artisan shops and a seawater swimming pool). A tram line connects Praia das Maçãs and Sintra during the summer months.

Other recommended beaches are:
- Praia da Ursa, a nudist beach near Cabo da Roca
- Azenhas do Mar (small but nice)
- Aguda (small and quiet), Magoito (with restaurants and shops) and Samarra (small and quiet)
- In about 15 km away is the beach "Guincho" / Cascais, where the windsurfing world championship is held
- 5 km from Colares is a delimited wine region famous for its excellent wine, which can be tasted in Adega Regional de Colares.

Good golf courses are 15 km away in Sintra (Belas / Penha Longa), 20 km away in Cascais / Quinta da Marinha and Estoril (18 holes). Another excellent golf course is the Praia Del Rey Golf Club (120 minutes drive).

A cleaning service is offered twice a week, and bed linen and towels are changed twice a week. On request, hot meals (Portuguese traditional dishes) can be offered. In the house you will find tourist information and maps to plan your excursions.

    “Das Haus ist der Hammer. Die Vermieterin jederzeit ansprechbar und sehr hilfsbereit. Kann Kritiken anderer Bewertungen absolut nicht nachvollziehen. Wie fahren seit Jahren in dieses Haus und sind hier restlos begeistert. Sollte einmal ein kleines Problem auftauchen, steht die Vermieterin sofort mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Die Vermieterin verdient allein für ihre Herzlichkeit und Gastfreundschaft "10 von 5" Sternen!”

    “Mooie locatie en charmant huis met ruime kamers en mooie verzorgde tuin. We kregen ook een goede ontvangst. Maar we begrijpen de hoge scores niet, want er zijn heel wat minpunten!
    -het huis rook muf, oppervlakkig gepoetst... spinnenwebben, spinnen, vuile ramen, achtergebleven haren in badkamers,...
    -elektriciteit: als je vaatwasser gebruikte viel de elektriciteit uit. Dit werd door verhuurder opgelost door de warmtepomp van zwembad af te zetten. We hadden dus voor de rest van verblijf geen verwarmd zwembad meer.
    -meestal had je enkel koud water om te douchen. (Het kleine gasboilertje in de keuken was niet voldoende om het ganse huis van warm water te voorzien).
    -rooster van barbecue was doorroest en onbruikbaar, kapotte tuinstoelen, ...
    -slechte , doorlegen bedden! Er was zelfs een bed waarbij de dunne matras enkel op een plank lag .
    -voortdurend last (dag én nacht) van(altijd) blaffende honden op het aanpalende terrein.
    -‘s nachts wakker worden van getrippel en geknaag op de zolderruimte....
    Wij gaan er zeker niet meer terug...”

    “I am very impressed with this family's comment. I must say that they are only right on one point, which concerns the electric current if it turns off some times. The reason was that one of the machines shorted out and caused this anomaly in the electric current. However, I turned off one of the pool machines (heat pump) and it didn't happen again. After the departure of the guests was the technician and is already repaired. (I apologized for that). However, the pool was still excellent at 26/28 degrees. Perfect to use. I do not agree, as it is not true everything else pointing to our house.”

    “This house is wonderful. It is very clean, and during the week it is cleaned again, as well as towel change. The owner Rosa welcomed us with fruits, wine and even a small present. The swimming pool is very good and the view to the ocean is amazing.”

    “Een fantastisch vakantiehuis voor ons gezin. 6 volwassenen. Schitterend uitzicht, zeer ruime, goed verzorgde tuin rondom, meerdere terrassen met meubilair en een eigen zwembad met ligstoelen. Warm welkom door de eigenaresse. Schoon huis, uitstekend ingericht, alles is er en voldoende van alles ( linnengoed, servies) met vele mogelijkheden en voldoende privacy voor alle 3 de koppels. Schoonmaak halverwege de week. Centraal gelegen om zowel stad, Lissabon en het prachtige Sintra, als strand, aan zowel de westkust als bij Cascais, te bezoeken. Voor ons een TOP plek.”
