Fabulous country house with an extensive garden and direct access to the river

The country house with colonial architecture is in Marco de Canaveses in the north of Portugal in rural surroundings by the river, ideal for those seeking peace and quiet.

The one-hectare site has a decorative forest with a fruit and vegetable garden, as well as a big table for ten people, a barbecue and a wood-burning stove.

The holiday house has a total of five bedrooms and five bathrooms. One bedroom has a kingsize bed, two have a double bed, one has two single beds, and there are three children’s beds in the attic. The kitchen is fully-equipped with an oven, stove, fridge, freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave, juicer, Italian coffee machine and washing machine. There is a big dining space for ten people. The spacious living room provides a fireplace and cable TV.

You can swim or go canoeing in the Tamega river, or explore the hiking trails by the Ovelha river, go cycling along the country road to Amarante, and get to know the traditional cuisine of the region. The other places of interest include the Roman ruins at Togobriga, the Freixo excavation site, or the historical centre of Amarante. Guimarães, the cradle of the nation, Porto’s historical centre or the Douro Valley are also worth a visit. Discover the cultural heritage and hospitality of the region, visit local festivals and enjoy the products sold at the markets.
